RIFI Fashion Agency is the number one modeling agency in Rwanda that provides both runway models as well acting models in movies and videos for local artists-singers.

As the fashion industry in Rwanda continues to grow also the number of modeling agencies continues to increase. Many young entrepreneurs are investing heavily in modeling careers. It is hard to tell how many modeling agencies are in Rwanda. The recent reach done by the RCFS team shows that there are more than 10 modeling agencies in Kigali alone.

The term fashion model means a woman or man who wears clothes to display the fashion of a certain designer. Fashion models mostly belong to modeling agencies (a modeling agency is a company that represents a group of models which they call their model board).

According to Franco Kabano CEO & Founder of Webest Models Management, modeling agencies are there to sell models talents not just having a group of people.

“Modeling agencies help models meet and connect with big fashion events as well as big different clothing brands. It is the job of the modeling agencies owners to wake up and go find jobs for their models ” said Franco

As there were not many fashions event that had been happening in the past two years because of Covid-19 impacts, the owners of these agencies had been trying both ways to create jobs for their models. The RIFI Fashion Agency is a youth forum founded by Ri Kon Yocan to help the young generation and promote their modeling talent locally to internationally. RIFI Fashion Agency was founded in 2021 with the mission of building a fashion industry where models can do more than showcase clothes on the runway or photoshoots.

“My idea was to create a unique agency where models can do more to generate an income as well as to compete with other modeling agencies around Kigali and in the East African Community region,” said Yocan.

Models of the RIFI Fashion Agency are taught to do catwalk, commercial advertisements, and acting. There are many trending songs that RIFI Fashion Agencies models and dancing crew had been worked with such as; EDENI by Chriss Eazy, BASI SORRY by Chriss, VANILLA by Marina, RADIYO by Alyn Sano, STOP by Chriss Eazy, NASARA By Dani Nanone, MY HEART by Nel Ngabo and many more. RIFI participated in many events and had been involved in many awards such as Guba Awards, KIMFEST Awards, Karisimbi Entertainment Awards, and Fashion Show.

Mr. Yocan is passionate about bringing fashion to his community, helping models have access to job opportunities, and bringing innovation and creativity to Rwanda's fashion.
