Inkanda House Releases Ndabaga Collection To Celebrate the Journey of Fashion Industry in Rwanda

During the interview with RCFS's Media, Patrick Muhire the CEO and Founder of the Inkanda House said that this collection is unique and it's made and designed for females.

" This is one of my collections of 2023. I and my team put effort into it. It is a combination of a few dark colors such as black, some white, and some chocolate, and I used very unique techniques in this collection" Said Muhire

Muhire added that while creating this collection referred back to his journey and his contribution to building the fashion industry in Rwanda since 2013

" This is our passion to continue creating new and unique collections of the 2023 to maintain our role and contributions to developing the fashion industry in our country especially supporting Made in Rwanda campaign our government initiated in the past years - 5 or 6 years ago " Muhire added

According to Muhire, it was not easy to start a fashion business in Rwanda at that time as my people did not have an idea how clothes can be made and produced in Rwanda.

" When I opened, everyone liked Chagua (second-hand clothes) and no one wanted to buy made-in-Rwanda clothes. We had to keep pushing and find new ways to approach Rwandans and even we used to explain to them the best to wear clothes that knowing who is the designer" said Muhire

"Few months into the operation of Inkanda House, many women came into this fashion career and I was amazed to see them grow. However, they had to keep pushing as well and this was my advice to them. So, that is why the " NDABAGA " collection is named in the memories of those all Rwanda women fashion designers who made it and still making it to building our fashion industry and keeping it alive" said Muhire

At Inkanda House makes a variety of garments to mention casual wear and evening wear for both ladies and gentlemen! Its garments have made it to a number of fashion shows around the world, to mention a few; Paris, Milan, and Brazzaville.
