Fashion enthusiasts are in for a treat this Saturday as Rwanda Cultural Fashion show returns with glamorous collections. Over 13 fashion designers will showcase their unique designs at Sports View Hotel in Remera. According to the organisers, the 4th edition of the fashion show will not only illustrate the creativity of designers but will also be a platform to rally Rwandans to support the country’s budding fashion industry. The popular runway show will feature fashion designers from Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United States of America, DR Congo and Nigeria.
Local designers taking part include Augustin Hakizima, Jossette Umurerwa, Inzovu African Village, Odette SCH ltd, Marie Paule Mutuyeyezu and N&S Creations. Guest designers who have confirmed their participation are Vinn Clizz from Kenya, Hameed Abdul from Tanzania, Robinah U5 from Uganda, Nancy Zeller from USA, Anne Dickson from Nigeria and Patricia Kinga from DR Congo. Traditional wear in African, modern and batik fabrics will dominate the evening as women, men and children clothes will be on display. Different types of designer jewelry will also be showcased.
Over 30 local models will provide a round table fashion show, allowing guests to get up close and personal to the new season collections whilst enjoying the show. Celestin Ntawirema, the founder of Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show, said that guests will be able to see different fashion brands that will be showcased at the event. There will also be an exhibition to allow the guests to shop the collections hot off the catwalk at the event.
“It’s always our goal to raise the standard of excellence every year. This year’s show will be a faster paced event as we have changed the overall runway section,” said Ntawirema. “We have also made it possible for the people who like the outfits that will be showcased on the runway to buy them at the exhibition that will be organised at the venue,” he added. Tickets to the Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show are on sale now at RZMAN Nyarutarama, Tecno market in Town, African International Club, Sports View Hotel and Nakumat at Kigali City Tower, (KCT).
