THE second edition of the annual Rwanda Cultural Fashion Week started yesterday with 10 design houses expected to share their collections through the runaway show. The venue for the show is City Art in Kimihurura and guests will be treated to informal modeling and demonstrations from new and top fashion designers.
This past weekend at Petit Stade in Remera, Kigali hosted the second annual Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show organized by Celestin Ntawirema. This event provided the opportunity for designers to show off diverse ranges of clothes and accessories made primarily with local materials. The days leading up to the show were full of activities such as a designers exhibition at City Arts, a Designers Cocktail and press conference.
Celestin Ntawirema first organised the Rwanda Cultural Fashion Week in 2013 with the aim of providing Rwandan fashion designers with a platform to showcase their creations. Ntawirema, who trades under his entertainment company Iris Pro Films, also wanted “to create a fashion show that highlights the culture of the country.”
